advocating for wellness
Most wouldn't be surprised that I prioritize my physical health, but I actually prioritize my mental health even more. Being our best mentally and emotionally allows us to also be our best physically. As a runner, there is nothing better than exploring a new trail or slipping into a new pair of ASICS Novablast. Other things that give me a boost are French press coffee, photo booths, watching Bald Eagles of the Channel Islands on explore.org, Oriental poppies and Ranunculus, living in the mountains, entertaining through food, theme parties, and rescue dogs. I share a lot of my running and life philosophy in my book, Let Your Mind Run: A Memoir of Thinking My Way to Victory. The book focuses on the power of positivity on performance. How will you enhance your own day? Below are examples of of how I attempt to spread good.
TEDx
This TEDx talk in Arlington Heights, Illinois is titled Joy Training. So often we wait until we run a personal best or get a promotion at work in order to experience joy. This talk is about making Joy part of our daily process. Take a listen.

more corners
I hosted More Corners, a travel guide, in my home town of Mammoth Lakes, California. All work and no play doesn't vibe with me. Watch how I pack in the fun in this beautiful mountain town I've called home for more than 20 years.
